When you give a girl some free time...

I was honestly, truly going to work on getting some trip pictures posted (you had almost forgotten, no?) when a discussion about poems ensued this evening in my household. My eldest wrote a poem a few months back (now posted on The Artistic Pen), which reminded her of a poem I had written, which reminded me to look for it again on my computer, which led me to my "Writing" folder, which led to all sorts of rediscoveries of poems and such I have written over the past few years. (My goodness, but I like to write non-scholarly things. I miss it.) Some are simply too personal to share, some are still very personal, but I'll share anyway, and some made me laugh out loud. So, because, as far as I can tell, I've only blogged one or two of these musings, I will now unveil/repost them for the world to see. Or, at least, for you to see. Don't expect greatness. Just perhaps a giggle or two, or a tug on a heartstring.

First off, a repost. Do you remember when Adam posted a picture of a broken arm and had a contest to see who could write the best backstory? No? Well, I tried to find it on his blog, but as he's had so many blogs over the years, I wasn't able to find it. So I'll link to my blog for posterity and so you can see the picture (you really need to see the picture for this to many any semblance of sense), and repost my story.

Blogging Bob

This is Bob. Can you see Bob?

Bob can blog. Bob has two arms and two hands and ten fingers. Bob can blog with his arms and hands and fingers.

Bob likes to blog. He blogs about his feelings. Do you have feelings? Everyone has feelings. Bob can blog about his feelings, and you can, too. Blog, Bob, blog!

Oh no! Bob has blogged too much! Do you see? Do you see Bob blogging too much?
Bob types and types on his computer. His fingers move fast. Watch Bob’s fingers as they type on the keyboard. But Bob’s fingers move too fast. The keyboard cannot handle Bob’s blogging. The keyboard explodes. Explode, keyboard, explode! Watch the keys as they fly through the air.

The force of the explosion breaks Bob’s arm. Do you see Bob’s arm? Do you see Bob’s arm break? Poor Bob.

But that is not all that happens to Bob. Oh, no! The keys from the keyboard fly through the air and hit Bob. One of they keys hits Bob hard in the arm. A key from the keyboard has lodged in Bob’s gaping wound. Poor Bob.

Bob has a foreign object in his body and a broken arm. Blogging has turned into a dangerous pastime for Bob.

Will Bob blog again? Maybe Bob will blog about his broken arm. Blog, Bob, blog!
