All is well

Waco water is nasty, just ask anybody. So for the first time in my life, I have resorted to buying bottled water. In the spirit of frugality and semi-earth-friendliness, I buy gallon bottles of Wal-Mart drinking water, and I've been doing this for...gosh...more than two years.

Now I like to drink water as much as the next guy, but there's something about this Wal-Mart water that I just really like. I've never been known to say water tastes good, but this water tastes GOOD! There are times it almost tastes sweet. It's really good water. Good, cheap water.

But recently, there was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad change in the Wal-Mart water. They changed their source from the Ft. Worth Municipal Water Supply to Palestine water. That's right, stinking Lake Palestine water. Tyler people, appreciate the irony.

I didn't think it was possible, but Palestine water tastes even worse than Waco water. I was so upset. Not only did my beloved water go away, but now I was stuck with three bottles of nastiness. I had paid for three bottles of nastiness! Life was sad and dim and nasty.

And then, today, I went grocery shopping, and lo and behold! The source has changed back to FWMWS!! Joy! Glory!

It's the little things, you know?

I know! It's amazing. The other day, i took a drink of it and afterward i was all "Holy shit, this water tastes just like water. It tastes soooo much different from the other water that also tastes just like water. This is the greatest day of my life." and then i danced as i sloshed water all over myself, as if i was bathing in pure undiluted joy.

I was going to say "Ain't it the truth! to your comment about "It's the little things", but my comment has lost a little of its punch since Aaron got here first. He got me laughing as I envision him dancing!

To Aaron: Shut up, you non-water drinking person who asks me, "Does this Coke taste like Coke?"

Oh, Amy. I feel you sister. You know I'm a crazy about my well water. The first thing I do when I get home to the farm is get a big ol'e glass of water from the tap. I love that metallic iron fortified well water from home- all the rest is tolerated with a heavy dosing of Crystal Lite.
But seriously, you should invest in a Brita attached to the tap. It'll save you money and the environment... Although I know you recycle.

I would do the Brita thing, but it doesn't affect the taste enough. It's very, very sad.

I felt so alone until I read this. No one understood my pain. Now I have hope again. Thank you.

You should consider moving to Robinson. Both my parents and Clint's Mom are on on their water supply, and it tastes so good. i always looked forward to their iced tea and even just drinking water from the tap. And don't you hate it when you order water from a Waco restaurant and they bring you crap water? Water here is, well, OK. Not wonderful like the Robinson water, but i can at least drink it without gagging.
