Yay for August! (Words I NEVER Thought I'd Say)

I just had an overwhelming urge--truly, a yearning--to read Harry Potter. It was so strong I had to blog about it.

I've been reading On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft by Stephen King (thanks, Mark, for the recommendation. Seriously, this time. Even better than Escaping Into the Open!), and King is a big fan of Rowling's (remember?) [<--oh, look, Mark, I found your recommendation!]. I am transcribing my handwritten notes on On Writing so I can email them to my project supervisor (I have to prove that I really read the book), and as I typed the words
"Note Harry Potter for really good back story inclusion (Yay! Some of my favorite books!)," my stomach lurched with longing.

The really, really great part, the light at the end of this hellacious summer tunnel (even after I dropped the math class I was supposed to take for the MCC Summer II session) is that this semester is over in a week-and-a-half (that's not the light; that's cause for a heart attack) and after that, I get a FULL MONTH OFF before I start the Fall semester (ah, there's the light). And I can read HP then, if I so choose.

I think I might.

I've been reading the Harry Potter books out loud to my Aaron, and we're having a delightful time with it.

Bravo on getting through a summer of challenging school work!
