No NaNo

Remember this time last year, when I was gearing up for NaNoWriMo? I'm not sure if you'd figured it out or not, or if you'd even thought about it, but I've decided, after all of .035782 seconds of deliberation, that I will NOT be participating this year.

Last year, I wanted NaNoWriMo. I NEEDED NaNoWriMo. It was such a great, empowering, liberating thing to go on a creative binge for a month. It was awesome to see what emerged from my imagination. The journey was incredible, and the payoff was unspeakably great.

This year, I need NaNoWriMo like I need a hole in the head. But, if you would like to relive all the glories of last year, you can bop on over to my NaNo site, which is still up and running, and view the newly posted second draft. Now, don't misunderstand me--the draft is not new, it's from March or sometime near there. I promised to post it in April, and it only took me 5 months to follow through. No, the POST itself is new. Although, in retrospect, the draft would be new to all of you. In any case, it's "A Fairy Tale..." version 2.0, posted in a new, reader-friendly format (Chapter 1 is the first post, followed by Chapter 2, etc.)

And, just so you know that my baby 'script has not been abandoned on a proverbial doorstep, I've been pondering many additions to the story--more magical creatures, a bad guy--in essence, more conflict. It will probably be a long time coming.

Maybe I'll work on it for NaNo '10.

P.S. If you want to view my NaNo site and don't already have access, just let me know and I'll give you permission.

I'm actually still debating. I actually have an idea, so I might do it. But it really isn't jiving (sp?) with my schedule like it did last year, so I'm not sure.
