Good Words

A couple of things I've read or heard in the past few days have really struck a chord with me. I hope you like them too.

"The span between life as we intend it and life as we receive it is vast. Our true purpose is worked out in that gap." --from "Schedule, Interrupted" by Mark Buchanan, Christianity Today.com This article actually relates pretty well to the conversation going on at Adam's blog.

Also, part of a song by Derek Webb:
"Beloved, listen to me
Don't believe all that you see
And don't you ever let anyone tell you
That there's anything that you need
But Me"

I really like that Derek Webb song - especially the part that you quoted! Awhile back I was playing it at work alot.

Thanks for linking to this article - I am enjoying (I'm reading it as I comment).

So far this comment stuck out:
"No, the distinguishing mark of purposeful people is not time management. It's that they notice. They're fully awake." Oh! to be more awake in this sense! I need it!

And also this Henri Nouwen quote he mentions stuck out to me, "My whole life I have been complaining that my work was constantly interrupted, until I discovered the interruptions were my work." That's good. It reminds me of Amanda's comments here.

This really is a good article (just finished it). Amanda should read it - it really does remind me of her post. Of course that doesn't mean only Amanda should read it.

By the way, I am listening to Derek Webb as I type (my favorite lines too! - "Do not be afraid. Do not be afraid" ...over and over - I like that). Ok, I can tell my time is up.

Wow, this was a really good article. I'm so glad I took the time to read it.

It's especially good reading for one who is driven and obsessed with time! (that would be me)
